“Before hiring an HVAC technician, homeowners should ask three key questions:

1. Is the technician experienced, and able to furnish references? Solid references are especially valuable when you hire someone not personally recommended. Check to see how the work was completed, and the level of competence and service.

2. Is the technician licensed? The U.S. Department of Labor requires HVAC technicians to be licensed for various jobs for safety using electricity, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.

3. Is the service estimate reasonable? Request repair estimates for labor and materials before work begins. Getting multiple estimates is helpful for comparison.”

It’s always a good idea to check out reviews when considering hiring an HVAC company to perform work. Look for reviews from reputable sources such as Google or Facebook. Another factor for reputation is a business’s BBB rating and whether they are accredited or not. Businesses that care about their consumers and customers will likely take the time to sign up with their local BBB to further establish their reputation.
